Zero Tolerance Policies
Adopted by the Board
November 16, 2009
The NCBC Board of Directors has adopted zero tolerance policies for every game director. These penalties were discussed by the board on November 16th and are effective immediately.
A player who disagrees with a director should ask for an appeal meeting immediately following the game and resume play.
- 1st Zero Tolerance Offense — a ¼ board penalty will be
assessed by the NCBC game director assigned to direct that day. This
penalty will be followed by a warning letter sent to the 1st time
offender.
-
2nd Zero Tolerance Offense — an additional ½ board penalty will be
assessed by the NCBC director assigned to direct. This penalty may be
given on the same day that the 1st offense is given or on a later
date. A warning letter will be sent to the offender advising him or
her that the offense is his 2nd and that a future offense will result
in a 2-week suspension from NCBC.
-
3rd Zero Tolerance Offense—the offending player will receive a 2-week
suspension from NCBC. This 3rd suspension will be followed by a letter
with specific dates of suspension. Such a suspension must also be
reported to the ACBL for permanent recording.
We believe these penalties are fair and necessary in order to maintain
an enjoyable atmosphere at your club. We want everyone to have a
pleasant time at the bridge table while playing at our club. Your board
at NCBC fully supports all its game directors and asks you to respect
and support them also. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
