I have revised the "My Partners" feature. It now works better for our needs. The most significant change is that you can enter recurring appointments, such as every 3rd Monday, or every 5th Friday. For complete details, see the Help article: My Calendar Usage.
It also now supports showing appointments by "hovering" your mouse over a date, even in Internet Explorer. The length of time you have to hover is a Windows variable, normally set to 4/10ths of a second. This is pretty sluggish for looking at several dates, so in that case you can use the large calendar, located under "My Calendar" in the "Partners" menu.

A feed from the National Weather Service has been added to The Daily Recap, located under News in the green bar menu. The current conditions are from the Hernando County Airport. The forecast starts out at Spring Hill, but can be changed to where you live.
Part of the page shows a map, currently centered on Spring Hill. Clicking on your location will move the forecast to that location. You can drag the map or zoom it out if you live outside a radius of about 20 miles from Spring Hill. |

Christine Striegl, our favorite snack supplier, has given me a dozen or so of her recipes to add to The Daily Recap's Recipe collection. If you're logged in, look in the User Menu in the Green Bar for "Recipes" and take a gander at her delicious stuff.

Some pictures on The Daily Recap are very large in their native form, but have been reduced in size to occupy less screen space and transmission time. Those that have been significantly reduced may have lost a fair amount of detail.
From now on, however, you will see a small magnifying glass at the bottom right of images having a large version. Clicking on the picture will fetch the larger image from the server and display it for you. Click anywhere on the enlargement to close it and return to the page.
If the article contains more than one large image, then "next" and "previous" buttons appear in the large image, at the bottom left in the border. These can be used to see all the large images, without going back to the article.

I have just added a new feature in the "Red Section" called My Partners for logged in users only. It is your personal calendar, and is intended to use to keep track of your partners, like your paper calendar does.
But it has some unique features!
- First, the "title" of the calendar is your partner for today, or if you have none today, it says "Nothing today."
- Second, your partner for tomorrow, if any, appears under the calendar.
- Third, if you add John Doe to your calendar, it will appear as expected, but also your name will appear on John Doe's calendar on that date.
To add a partner (or any reminder), click on any open date. To see what you have scheduled for some date, "hover" your mouse over that date. You will see the appointments for that date show up in a little window.

A new section of The Daily Recap has been added, called Misc, on the Green Menu Bar. Carl McGiffin submitted an e-mail that is making the rounds on the internet. I found it interesting, as well. Check it out, in the Misc section, but dial-up users beware, it has a lot of pictures and may load too slowly for you.

The author of the voting software, Oli Merten, from Mannheim, Germany, logged in today and did some debugging. His software is expected to handle polling of our users to see how they like certain things. It also works for Swiss-Team signups, and potentially can handle Elections including nominations and write-ins. |

If you purchase anything from Amazon.com while following a link in the Daily Recap, the site will receive a commission. In the Lending Library, you follow such a link on the "Book Detail" page, where it says "Click on the cover ...", and you do click on the picture of the book.
Currently, the commission is 4%. The price you pay at Amazon does not increase. |
