After 5 rounds of bridge in the Sunday Swiss, Annabelle Hills and Mary Ann Dufrense came to our table to start a new match. We each shuffled a board.

Anne Logan had shuffled board #1 and was passing out the hands to each player. Annabelle then bemoaned the fact that she had had lousy cards all day long.

So Anne said, "Annabelle, take my hand." Annabelle gave Anne a quizzical look of uncertainty, pondered . . . and switched hands with Anne.

I was North and passed. Annabelle passed (with  Anne's original hand), and Anne opened 1♣ showing a hand with a minimum of 16 HCP!! Needless to say, 3 of the 4 people at the table started to roar with laughter!!
