For those 299ers who are gone for the summer, just want you to know we hope you are having an enjoyable time, and we miss you. As for those who are still in town, June has been a very active month. We have had two very informative learning sessions on Attitude Signals by Mary Ann Dufresne and Leads vs. Suit Contracts by Pat Foster. Thanks to both of you for your presentations.

Paula Storch and I attended the Board meeting this past Friday and expressed your continued concerns about combining the Wednesday open and 299er games. In July, Wednesday games will be separate games -- Open and 299ers, just as they were in May. If the open games fall below four tables, 299ers will be asked to volunteer to move to the open games. Volunteers will get a free game. That seemed to work very well before and everyone in both groups seemed to have a good time.

Those who have been staying away this month are encouraged to come and join the 299ers again. We miss you.

MEMORIAL DAY: One minute of silence for our lost troops in past wars and for our American troops around the world who are defending our country.

This is reason that Nature Coast Bridge Club players were able to be FREE on Memorial Day and to be able to participate in a Swiss tournament on that day!!

The second reason, in my mind, was to thank all of NCBC players for their support of the club with free games and free food. Thanks to Bev Tillberry for all of the food and to all of her helpers for the refreshments. Great turnout!

Silver points are coming back to Nature Coast Bridge Club from the Sarasota Sectional this past weekend! Eight 299ers took part in the games and had a wonderful time at the “In Between Club” (and restaurants!) in Sarasota. Many qualified for their next level of Masters points--in either the pairs or in the Swiss games. If you ever get a chance to experience Sectionals, Regionals or Nationals in various locations, do try them. You can meet so many nice people.
