Silver points are coming back to Nature Coast Bridge Club from the Sarasota Sectional this past weekend! Eight 299ers took part in the games and had a wonderful time at the “In Between Club” (and restaurants!) in Sarasota. Many qualified for their next level of Masters points--in either the pairs or in the Swiss games. If you ever get a chance to experience Sectionals, Regionals or Nationals in various locations, do try them. You can meet so many nice people. While in Sarasota there was the May NCBC Board Meeting. The following is part of the results. For the month of June, Wednesday games will be combined with the 299ers and the open pairs. Free for all plays. No food will be served. The subject will be addressed again next month. I would like to thank the Bartells for their help in organizing the boards after games last week. These little gestures certainly make it easier for Paula, myself, and most importantly--the Directors who work so hard to make our games run smoothly. We have noticed how most players pick up their trash, push chairs in, turn over one card in the boards etc. THANKS A HEAP!!!!! Memorial Day party and Swiss games are coming soon. Sign up at the back desk. Games and lunch will be free. Terry Loschke (352) 688-6853 and Judy Jansen (352) 340-5091 are looking for a team. Terry and Judy are new to 299ers and are real “go getters!” They are not intimidated in any way and are jumping right into Duplicate. We are so proud of them. If you need couple more on your team, please give them a call. You will not be disappointed. Your NEW PARTNERSHIP CHAIRMAN will be ALICE JONES. In the future, if you need a partner, please contact Alice at (352) 848-0072 or E-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Thank you for volunteering, Alice. Your Board needs more volunteers ie, help with maintenance, and other positions. Just inform one of your Board members where you can help out. Also, the furnace has been checked and there is no mold in the furnace. Filters will be changed monthly. This should help some allergy patients. Speaking of allergies....allergic to perfumes or strong deodorants or after-shave lotions? A comment was made in Sarasota. One of the players was very allergic to certain scents at another table and became very uncomfortable. So think about it. We should all be aware of such a possibility and wear unscented products when in a crowd. Remember Memorial Day Swiss and new one-hour sessions coming up in June, July and August. They will be announced again later and are available to all Club members. Did you notice that we had seven tables of 299ers on both Tuesday and Wednesday last week? Not bad for summer season! We ARE having a good time. See you this week.
