Think nobody's really working on robots? This robot takes a step and sees what happens. For example, if when it steps its "knee" won't straighten, it knows not to put weight on it. It checks such things as balance 1000 time per second. It weighs 235 pounds and can carry 340 pounds -- like a mule. See it here.
