NCBC holds several Swiss Team games each year. Some are on Sundays and consist of two sessions and lunch. Some are on the 5th daily game in a month and consist of a single session. Swiss Team games are also a favorite at all levels of Tournaments.
The next NCBC Swiss Team game is February 14, a Sunday. It's therefore an all day event, with two sessions and an included lunch. This particular game is also awarding Silver masterpoints. As you may know, Silver points are hard to come by.
Swiss Team games are a lot of fun. Be sure to join us and see! If you've never played in one before, what follows is a brief explanation of Swiss Team games.

Newcomers can come without a partner and play with another player who comes without a
partner, or a player from the open game will play with you. (You cannot receive
points when you play with a player who has more points than the limit for your section; 299 on Tuesday, 99 on Wednesday.)
The better thing is to have
a partner when you arrive at the game. We have a Partnership desk on the
website, here . You can
check to see if anyone is posted, or you can post your own information. Include
dates you want to play, name, total masterpoints, and telephone number. You do not have to be logged in to use the "Desk".

North is the “controller” of the Bridgepad. He should enter most of the information but should also SHARE the unit with other players when the situation calls for it. If North has vision problems or other handicaps that prevent him from handing the BridgePad, South may do the entries, but it would be better if North and South switch places. If neither North nor South can handle the unit, then E or W can do the entries. If nobody can handle the unit, the Director will be happy to help.
The single most important thing to remember is to READ the screen and note the location of the cursor. This goes for N when entering the information, and for E or W when checking it. |

There is a list automatically produced each month from the ACBL's updated masterpoints. Normally, it is available around the 10th of the month.
You must be logged in to see this list. To see it, choose the "Lists" item from the User Menu. The User Menu is located in the green bar Menu, if you are logged in. (If you are not logged in, the User Menu does not appear.) When you choose the Lists menu item, there are several lists available. "YTD MPs" is the one you want.

J anet Moses asked me for help re-installing her Convention Card Editor which had been lost during a recent upgrade to Windows XP. Instead, I thought others would like information about them. I had looked into them some months ago, downloading several and trying them out.
My general impression is that one in particular can be useful for use with your regular partners. The others had little value.
However, I feel that when used "as is" the one I recommend produces cards that are difficult for opponents to read. This is primarily due to the use of the same fonts for the "body" of the card as for the "content." But the program is very flexible and I have some suggestions for you that make the card better, in my opinion. |

DO NOT PRESS THE POWER-ON KEY (PWR) UNTIL THE DIRECTOR IS READY.
The BridgePad looks like a calculator. It stays at the North seat thoughout the Game. North will enter CONTRACTS and RESULTS, not scores.

Lee Hargrave sent the following.
"I just put an icon on my (Vista) desktop for The Daily Recap. First, I saved the site as a Favorite. Then, I shrunk IE Explorer size to intermediate size so that I could see both the desktop and the Favorite list and simply dragged the Favorite (The Daily Recap) to the desktop. This is very simple and works on XP also."

The site works best if you set your screen to 1024 x 768 or higher.
This is done by right clicking on your desktop, selecting Properties, then Settings.
There you will find "Screen Resolution". Only very old monitors cannot support 1024 x 768. Move the "arrow" gadget left and right to select your resolution.

We loaded local players, in bulk, from an ACBL-provided "roster" file, and registered all of them. Your ACBL number is your password, and your username is the name known to the game computers. Some of us are known by different names in different places. Mary Ann has placed a list at each site, where you can find out exactly which name we used.
You should proceed as follows:
- Try (once) to log in with your real Name, capitalized correctly, and use your ACBL number as your password
- If it works, you're home free
- If it doesn't work, Contact Us or use the "Register" link in the login box
