At the last board meeting, the board decided to
ask members if they would be willing to be Refreshment Chair for a day of the
week. Beverly says she can handle Monday and Doug Macdaid is considering
taking Friday. Are you willing to take Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday
night? The task is not to provide refreshments yourself, but to arrange
for someone to provide them each week. Reply to this email or speak to

Our Easybridge sessions are going very well. The fee schedule to being changed to $7.00 per day for a lesson and a game. Players may pay by the day instead of for four sessions at a time. New players with less than 20 masterpoints may join the sessions at any time. Presenters will be on hand to bring new players up to speed. I've attached a flyer containing a certificate for 1 free lesson and game. Please print it off and give it to friends who may be interested in trying bridge. New players coming into the game are the life blood of Bridge. The 12:30 game on Thursday is open to any player who has under 20 masterpoints. The fee for game only is $4.00.

No this is not another chapter of the Angst of Annabelle. But I do feel a narrative coming on. Friday wasn't Friday the 13th but is almost was. It was Friday the 12th. Our game started out swimmingly. The players put all new cards in the boards and we still got started on time. As always, thanks to those other directors who did some of the set up tasks and to my friends who took the refreshment responsibility off my shoulders. |

 In the special election held today, Christie Bendickson was elected to fill the vacancy left by Calol Hargrave's resignation. As is customary at the club, the vote totals were not announced. The term of office is from now until the next General Election, held April 1st, 2011. Christie had this to say, "Thanks to all of you for your vote of confidence in electing me to fill the temporary position on the Board of Directors. "It is an honor to represent all of you. I will do my best to keep the interest of the WHOLE Club in my actions while serving the Board. I realize I cannot please everyone with everything I say or do, but my intentions will be to represent the Bridge Club in the fairest manner to all."

There will be a special election on Monday, October 25 before the regular 12:30pm game to fill the vacancy on the NCBC Board of Directors, caused by the resignation of Carol Hargrave.
