hit Campbell and his mother Donis clobbered the field in the Morning session of the Open Pairs at the Crystal river sectional with a massive 72% game.  Worn out from this effort, they also scored a mere 57% game in the Afternoon session, winning in the B strat.  You'd think they've known each other for 60 some years or something.  Do you suppose Whit plays the way his mommie taught him on her knee.  Can you imagine Whit on her knee!  What a sight that must have been.

Others doing well include Anne and Jim Logan, Susan Russett and Karen Alpaugh, Mary Ann Dufresne and Gerry Panos, Daryl Drew and Lila Walling, Pat Clark and Millie Dabbs, Dan and Beverly Tillberry, and Lois Fortunato and Annabelle Hills.{easycomments}

e’re all lining up to play as Tom Madden’s partner after he’s placed first three days in a row. The Friday East-West win with me was a total surprise for everyone, especially Tom and me! The Monday North-South win with Jim Somma was a strong probability. And likewise, the Tuesday North-South win with Linda Reeder. Congratulations, Tom.

T
he big news from Clearwater is that Sandie became a life master, but others from Brooksville/Spring Hill were also stars. Adam had his usual great tournament and won over 21 points. The Hargraves won Bracket 2 of the Thursday/Friday knockouts, followed closely by Sandi's team (Lu, Janet and Millie) in second place. Millie was thrilled to win her first gold points--over 13 for the week. Others who scored points are: Annabelle, two of our Loises (Fortunato and Knight), the Littles, Steve Wallis, Donis and Whit, I. J., Judy, Marion and even me. Good job, everybody!{easycomments}

At the Clearwater Beach regional, Sandie got the last few gold points she needed. Congratulations, Sandie!

Here's her message to all of you: "I especially want to thank Lu Porter, my partner, and our Clearwater tournament teammates for helping me get those last gold points I needed to become life master. I also want to thank my opponents who allowed me to win an overtrick or just give me a gift at the bridge table during the 40 years that I've played bridge off and on. Becoming a life master has been a life long dream and I'm pretty happy about it."

It takes a lot of work to keep a bridge club running smoothly.  HBA needs all the help it can get.  Most urgently, we need people to help with refreshments on Tuesday or Wednesday.  You don't have to cook anything--though homemade goodies are much appreciated--and it won't cost you anything.  The club will gladly reimburse you for any spending.  Just arrive early, brew the coffee and set up whatever treats you have purchased for the day.  If you can help out for a month or even for a week or two, you'll be our hero.   Let Mary Ann know what you can do to pitch in.  Thanks!
