Now that we've unpacked and found our way around at the new location, we'll be resuming refreshements on Monday.  BUT...

Coffee service is still presenting a problem because there is no sink on site.  For the next couple of weeks we'll be providing hot water only while we search for a better solution.

Enjoy!

One of our players was so concerned that her friends and fellow players were being coerced into giving pencils to the club, pencils that were not necessarily purloined from the NCBC but their own personal pencils, that she ordered a large supply of pencils clearly identified as NCBC pencils and donated them to the club.  She wishes to remain anonymous for fear of retribution from our militaristic Millie!

A total of 118 pencils were received during the two week program. Howard Coley returned 40 authentic NCBC pencils and was awarded the prize of one free bridge play.

We’ll be celebrating the first day in our new home with our annual Halloween party.

Festivities start around 11:00 and include a free lunch, prizes for the best costume, and tons of fun for all. Gerry Panos and Lois Fortunato are hosting and serving an Italian casserole Gerry calls ‘sloppy lasagna.’ I’ve sampled it and it’s great. We’ll have sides and dessert, too, but more dessert donations would be most welcome.

Get your Swiss teams together and join us for a fun day!

It's official -- NCBC is moving out of the Senior Citizen Club due to their apparent instability. Instead, starting right away on October 31, we'll be playing in the Conference Center at Towne Square Mall. Games, times, and fees remain the same.

Towne Square Mall is located 1.5 miles South of the Senior Citizen Club on the West side of highway 19. The Conference Center is located at the far South end of the Mall.

Parking is plentiful with one exception. Persons using walkers or wheel chairs should park in undesignated and unmarked spaces against the South wall of the Mall. Nobody else should park there. Other people with handicaps should use standard parking spaces where ever you find them -- the walk is not long, but is longer than we have had at SCC.

The actual move is being coordinated by Beverly Tillberry. Anyone who can help with strength or vehicles should contact her.

Pencil Salvage Center

The pencil recovery effort got off to a good start Monday with over 40 pencils returned. Policewoman M. Dabbs and Deputy G. Panos appealed to the concerned crowd to search their domains for mistakenly taken pencils and return them this week.

Tuesday more pencils were received as Assistant Deputy D. Tillberry supervised the crusade.

Many pencils are still missing and with only three more days to recover them, we urge you to find those that may still be lurking in your cars, purses, pockets, desk drawers, etc.

Remember the person who turns in the most authentic NCBC pencils this week will receive a free game play. Deputy Panos and Policewoman Dabbs

Always make your lead face down.  The face down lead may be withdrawn only upon instruction of the Director after an irregularity. If you leave the bidding cards on the table until the face down lead is made, there will never be a question as to who is supposed to make the lead.  Another advantage of leaving the bidding cards on the table is there will never have to be a review of the bidding.
