Guess need to change title -- not challenging at all to the Jim Logans. Hope you all don't read his quick response before you try it.

It seems to me that with a 4-1 or 5-0 trump split, and a bad club break, he could lose 1 or 2 spades, and 2 diamonds making 3 or 4. So it seems to me that he should play clubs earlier, before opp gets a chance to sluff clubs under his ruffs. But remember, it's me saying so, not Jim!

it doesn't matter what they sluff as the hearts are ruffed. in answering this problem, i didnt have the luxury of seeing who follewed on the 2 rounds of trumps when lead to dummy, so my answer was based on a 3-2 trump break, more likely than a 3-3 club break. glad to seethe interest !!! will be back monday nite!! jim logan

Help suit game tries should be in suits without HCP, very weak suits of 3 cards or longer needing real help.

If you bid 3D HSGT, you will not land in 4S. With friendly splits, 4S makes but after a 3D HSGT, the North hand should decline.

Logan's dummy reversal seems to work?

To chark and all the other smart players:
YOUR TURN!

I wish I had heard from the mediocre/beginning players who actually may have learned something from the hand. Come on, guys, don't make me look so bad!!
