Recently, I was informed that a Tom Midhoff was looking for a partner for the Christmas Party so I sent out an e-mail to the 299ers looking for a partner -- Gene Kortier contacted him and they will be playing at the Christmas party tomorrow.

When the name was given to me, I asked husband Don, if he remembered a Tom Midhoff.  Rang a bell with me, but not with Don. I kept thinking of an Optometrist from WAAAYY back. Michigan? Virginia? ? ? ? Not Tampa....where????

Well, Tom was my first Optometrist when I was a kid in Trenton, Michigan.  Gene Kortier graduated with me from Trenton High School.  And we will all be together at the Christmas Party tomorrow!  SMALL WORLD!!!!

I cannot wait to meet DR. MIDHOFF (Tom, now) tomorrow at the games. All three have not seen all together for 50 years!!

Tell me, is that not what bridge can be all about?  Meeting old friends and having a wonderful time or a fun game of bridge?!?

I am bringing my camera!!  Cannot wait to see Tom again.  We had a delightful conversation regarding many of his former patients and many of my friends from the 50's and 60's.
