The Crime:Walking away from the bridge site with a pencil behind your ear, or unintentionally wrapped in your convention card or dropped in your pocket or purse. The Punishment: One year hard labor at the bridge table with lousy cards or one year of being dummy every hand. (Choice is at the discretion of the penal committee.) Enforcer: Pencil Policewoman - The Irascible and Much Feared Millie Dabbs is back in town. Good news! Your officers have agreed to another Pencil Punishment Amnesty. For one week, October 17th through the 21st, any player may return pencils mistakenly taken from the bridge site with no questions asked. Fierce but Fair Policewoman Millie has agreed to collect the pencils while looking the other way. This amnesty is good for one week only; after that the aforementioned harsh penalties will apply. Even better, On Monday Oct. 24th the culprit who returned the most pencils will be awarded a free game of his/her choice. Remember, only bonefide bridge pencils will be counted. You may not walk into Staples or Office Depot, buy pencils, turn them in to Ultra Strict Policewoman Millie and collect the prize. Nor can you collect household pencils and do same. (New pencils would be accepted, but do not count towards the prize.)
