Claire Hulit reports that Dorothy has died.  According to an e-mail previously received by Claire from Dorothy's son, "She had a stroke on Sunday a week ago today and has been unresponsive ever since.  She had been in Hospice Care Center there on Hwy. 50 since Thursday the 12th."

She was 98 years of age and had been absent for many weeks, but was one of our better regular bridge player for many years.

Dorothy was my first partner and we have had many good games together. She has our results taped on her kitchen wall. Her famous saying when a contract was 4 of a minor: "You know you need a note from your Doctor."

She once told Daryl Drew, who wanted to leave the table to have a smoke, "Go ahead, you're not doing any good here." She and Daryl had many fun games together.

We used to have dinner and bridge with Judy and Jerry Lipovetz and Bob and Irene Ivory. We'd play "in and out" so she could play with everyone. Jerry and Irene don't play, but we all had fun. She's one of a kind.

Dorothy gave us all hope that we can continue playing brdige . She was a pretty sharpe lady right up to the end.

Dorothy was an inspiration to us--always so upbeat, great sense of humor, and she loved her bridge. God bless you, rest in peace.
