Enter new names into the database before you enter names into the game database.  If the name goes in automatically and are not linked to the database, you must delete the name and then add it again in order to register the points for ACBL purposes.
Putting player information in the database.    When entering player information in the datebase for the first time, fill out all information.  Double check to be sure there are no typos or other errors.  If the information on the "New Player Information" slip is not clearly written, double check with the new player.  We've had instances when the telephone number and/or email address is entered in the database incorrectly or not at all.  That always seems to end up being the player we desperately need to contact only to find out we don't have the correct information.  After all information is entered and verified click "Done".  Then use the F3 function key, Type A (or click on "Add"), enter the correct Group code from the bottom of the player information slip. Click "enter, enter.  type A again, (except for Just visiting players), type FT, click enter, enter, and use the F3 button.
The group codes assigned are:  A1 - Regular Game Player,  A2 - 0-299er player, and JV - player who is just visiting. (Enter both characters in the same box.)
The FT group code will let us know immediately who the new players are each month without going through the entire database.  This group code will be erased each month after the list of new players is produced for the purpose of updating the telephone and email lists.  A1 indicates who should be entered on the regular club telephone list and A2 indicates who should be included on the 0-299 list.  Both indicate continuing players.  JV indicates that the player should not be added to either list.  (Do not use the second F3 command (entering FT) with JV players.
When you switch directing dates with another director, always tell the club manager.  Beverly is filling in as club manager while Lois is indisposed
