Bill Wannen was buried today in a military-style service conducted by the VFW and attended by his four living sons, his former wife, and several grandchilden. The sons spoke lovingly about his being a family man above all else, always willing to help in ways financial and emotional. Jim Logan related an amusing story of Bill's bursting out laughing when forced to lead from a K, which he hated to do, because he had all of them. Ken Mason, Jean McGuire, and Millie Dabbs, his former bridge partners were all in attendance. He was 87. An autobiographical history of his life, written by Bill, is here.
