The officers of the Hernando Bridge Association have awarded Don Bowen free plays for life.

Many of you don't know the time and effort this man has put into keeping the Brooksville club alive. He carted tables from place to place, was the first to arrive to set up games and was the last to leave after putting away everything after the games.

He shopped for and provided refreshments, kept supplies available, and was president and treasurer for many years. (He admits Lois Fortunato helped a little; actually he considers her the "other" driving force.)

Most of our players come to a game that is mostly set up to play and don't realize how much work there is in running the games and the clubs. Don does! He's been doing it for 18 years!

Don recently suffered some very debilitating physical problems. He wants to resume his duties, but the mother hens on the board have said no, no, no! We don't want to see him going through that again. We'd rather have him come to play and help with only those things he knows won't injure him. We love you, Don and know you'll accept our offer of free plays gracefully.
